Summary
This dossier concerns humanitarian visas. The amendments are divided: some reject any proposal for a European Humanitarian Visa, citing a prior Parliament rejection and the Court of Justice ruling in Case C-638/16, and propose reception centres in third countries and tackling smuggling and root causes of migration; others provide that Member States may issue such a visa to persons seeking international protection to enter solely to apply, complementary to national procedures.
