Summary

A legislative dossier on capacity limits for Eastern Baltic cod, data collection and control measures in the Baltic Sea, and permanent cessation for fleets fishing for it. The amendments invoke the ecosystem-based approach and nutrient inputs, ICES assessments of the depleted stock, the imbalance between fleet capacity and fishing opportunities, observer coverage and landing thresholds, public support for permanent cessation under the EMFF, and alternatives to scrapping vessels.

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
