This dossier aligns the exchange of information and cooperation concerning terrorist offences with Union rules on the protection of personal data. The amendments update references to the legal instruments governing Europol and Eurojust, require processing of personal data in compliance with Union data-protection law and only for preventing, investigating, detecting or prosecuting terrorist offences, limit the categories of personal data exchanged, and provide for transmission through secured channels.
