Summary

This dossier concerns jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition of decisions and acceptance of authentic instruments in matters of parenthood and the creation of a European Certificate of Parenthood. Amendments rework recitals on the recognition between Member States of a child's parenthood, the rights and best interests of the child, non-discrimination, rainbow and same-sex-parent families, the Charter, CJEU case law and Member State competence over family law.
