Summary
Own-initiative report on European cinema in the digital era. Amendments stress the digital transition of cinemas and its social cost, warn that small, rural and arthouse cinemas are excluded from the Virtual Print Fee (VPF) model and call for public support and an alternative financing model, emphasise preserving programming diversity and cultural facilities in rural and remote areas, training for professionals, and continuation of the MEDIA programme.
