Summary
This dossier concerns the possibility for Member States to restrict or prohibit the use of genetically modified food and feed on their territory. Amendments call on the Commission to withdraw and resubmit its proposal given Member States' opposition to GMO authorisations, and revise recitals on the centralised EU authorisation procedure, the divisive nature of genetic engineering, Member States' ability to restrict placing on the market, and scrutiny at Union level.
