Capital Requirements Regulation: adjustments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic
This dossier adjusts the Capital Requirements Regulation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The amendments address temporary suspension of dividend distributions and variable remuneration, guarantees from national governments, public debt and central-bank exposures, market-risk multipliers and backtesting overshootings in internal models, IFRS 9 expected credit loss provisions and transitional arrangements, non-performing exposures, the leverage ratio buffer and the Basel framework, to support banks' capacity to keep lending.
