Consumer credits

2021/0171(COD)·9th term·ECON / IMCO·COD - Ordinary legislative procedure (ex-codecision procedure)·Completed
Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): KONEČNÁ Kateřina (GUE/NGL)
Summary

The dossier concerns consumer credits. Amendments would require Member States to prohibit the sale of credit to consumers without their prior request and explicit agreement, with carve-outs for point-of-sale and crowdfunding credit agreements, and they rework the creditworthiness assessment of the consumer, including the information used, verification, documentation duties, and the conditions under which credit may be made available.

1 roll-call votes

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
