Minimum loss coverage for non performing exposures

A regulation on minimum loss coverage for non-performing exposures. The amendments revise recitals on the strategy to address non-performing exposures, completing the Banking Union, the prudential backstop and competent authorities' supervisory powers, classification of NPEs, a pre-defined calendar increasing coverage over time, treatment of secured versus unsecured exposures and the 90-day past-due threshold, partial write-offs, forbearance measures and consumer protection, referencing housing bubbles and the financial crisis.
